Although there is no official day dedicated to the full moon, Swatch commemorates August 1st, the Swiss national day, while also paying homage to the Swiss Made heritage of the OMEGA and Swatch brands. Drawing inspiration from the brilliant moonlight in a dark blue sky, Moonshine™ Gold by OMEGA was created in 2019 and is an exclusive yellow gold alloy. As stated in the certificate that comes with the watch, the special second hand is produced exclusively once a month during full moon dates, which are known to have a magical influence on many things, including humans. This Mission to the Moon is sold during Mission to Moonshine Gold events, which take place during full moons in different locations around the world.
