When we think of Nike, the first shoe that comes to mind is the Air Force 1 , an 80s basketball silhouette that has remained inextricably linked to the history of the Swoosh and that of any sneakerhead. In fact, it is difficult for a sneaker enthusiast to have never had a pair of AF1s in their shoe rack and it is no coincidence that the white color is in the TOP 5 of the best-selling sneakers of all time.

The Nike Air Force 1 was launched in 1982 with the slogan "Air in box" and owes its name to the presidential plane. They are the first basketball shoes to feature an air bubble on the heel which guarantees cushioning and support, which at the time was not at all a trivial thing. Only 3 years earlier Nike had launched the Tailwind - the first model to boast Air technology - but it was one thing to propose innovations in running, a sector in which Nike could boast excellent knowledge and already a strong following, it was another to launch a similar innovation in the world of basketball, where the brand had little experience.
